A New Year, A New Chapter: Letting Go, Growing Forward
As the year comes to a close and the calendar prepares to turn its page, I find myself pausing—taking a deep breath and looking back at where we began compared to where we stand now. It’s incredible how much can change in a single year, and even more incredible how often that change begins with a quiet realization we can no longer ignore.
Feeling Stuck: When Something No Longer Fits
At the start of this year, I felt stuck.
Not the kind of passing frustration that comes with running a small business, but a deep sense of stagnation that lingered day after day. Our little shop was in an environment that felt dreary and inhospitable. The energy was heavy. The light felt dim. And no matter how much heart I poured into the space, it no longer aligned with who I was or what I wanted to create.
I kept asking myself a difficult but honest question: How could customers feel happy and welcome here, when I didn’t?
The Moment Everything Changed
For a long time, I pushed that feeling aside. I told myself to be grateful. I reminded myself how hard I had worked to build this business. I convinced myself that sometimes you just have to push through.
But eventually, I reached a turning point. I had had enough. I was done forcing something that no longer fit.
And just as I made that decision, the opportunity to move, grow, and expand opened up.
A New Space, A New Energy
We moved to a location closer to home, right into the vibrant, bustling heart of our little beach town. From the very beginning, everything felt different.
The space was lighter. The energy was warmer. It felt alive.
Almost immediately, the community showed up. Fellow business owners were supportive and encouraging. Artists and makers were excited to take part. Longtime customers sought us out and shared how peaceful and welcoming the new space felt.
For the first time in a long time, I felt happy, welcome, and at home.
The Power of Community and Collaboration
One of the most beautiful parts of this transition was the sense of community. Instead of competition, there was collaboration. Instead of isolation, there was encouragement.
This move reminded me how powerful it is to be surrounded by people who genuinely want to see you succeed. It reaffirmed why small businesses and creative spaces matter—and why community is everything.
Letting Go to Move Forward
Looking back now, I’m amazed by how far we’ve come.
The biggest lesson? Sometimes growth requires letting go. Letting go of comfort. Letting go of fear. Letting go of what once worked but no longer serves you.
Letting go doesn’t mean giving up—it means trusting that something better is possible.
A Year of Self-Care and Hard Lessons
On a personal level, this year brought some serious lessons in self-care. Like many people, I ignored the small signs my body was sending me.
“I don’t have time,” I told myself.
“I’ll take care of it later.”
Until one day, an issue hit like a ton of bricks, forcing me to stop completely.
Listening to Your Body
The universe has a way of stepping in when we refuse to listen. It reminded me that it’s the little things that add up—and that caring for your body isn’t optional.
Listen to your body. Care for your body. It’s the only one you have on this journey, divinely designed to heal itself and carry you through.
Self-care isn’t selfish. It’s essential.
You Are the Only One Who Can Create Change
If you’re feeling stuck—at work, at home, in relationships, or within your own body—remember this: you are the only one who can create change in your life.
That doesn’t mean the path will be easy. It doesn’t mean everything will change overnight. But small steps matter.
Ask yourself each day: “What can I do differently today?”
One Day at a Time
Don’t let the task overwhelm you. You don’t need all the answers right now. Take it one day at a time. Sometimes one small shift is enough to start a ripple of change.
Over time, those ripples become waves.
Looking Ahead to the New Year
Wow—what a difference a year makes.
As I look ahead, I do so with joy, anticipation, and open arms. I am ready and grateful to receive all the blessings this new year has in store.
I don’t know exactly what’s coming next—but I trust the journey.
My Wish for You This New Year
May you find joy in unexpected places.
May you feel supported, seen, and welcomed.
May you listen to yourself with kindness and trust.
May you have the courage to let go of what no longer serves you.
And may you step into this new year with hope, grace, and confidence.
✨ Here’s to a joyous and bountiful New Year. Cheers!

Be happy. Be well. Be blessed.
